London Shank

Sub Officer Phil Turcsi of the London Fire Brigade submitted this multi-use tool simply made with a sawzall blade and tape. He says it is a great tool to have at any incident. This tool cuts, turns screws, opens Yale latch locks and sliding windows. It can even be flicked onto auto glass windows to to gain entry into a vehicle.

It is simple, light and cheap and if you lose it just quickly make another with Duck Tape or electrical tape as the handle. If carried in your gear, we would suggest sliding the “shank” into a protector prior to your bunker gear pocket for obvious reasons.
